Contemporary black and white. Sard onyx, howlite and zebra jasper necklace. Horizontal lines in center stone are light reflections and do not exist. Stone shows continuous concentric circles. - Sardonyx was named after an ancient city in what is now Turkey. It is an agate that has alternating bands which are formed by alternating layers of chalcedony and quartz or opal. Sardonyx is a stone of strength and protection.
